Our Ethos

St Anne’s Catholic Primary School was established in 1898, and since that time has been providing primary education to the children of Reading.

The school was founded by the Catholic Church to provide education for children of Catholic families. The school is conducted by its Governing Body as part of the Catholic Church in accordance with its Trust Deed and Instrument of Government and seeks at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ. As a Catholic school we hold the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the heart of our school family. We therefore value our pupils as children of God, entitled to be educated to their full potential. The school shares with parents, the Church and the wider community, the responsibility of leading children to know and love God and to develop an appreciation of His world.

Our School Aims

St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is a Voluntary Aided school under the trusteeship of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

The school shares with Parents and Carers, the Church and the wider community, the responsibility of leading children to know and love God and to develop an appreciation of his world through the best possible education The school expects parents to support actively Christian/Catholic teaching and practice and to uphold Christian values, ensuring that children maintain good standards of behaviour in and out of school.

Celebrating our amazing children!

Here at St. Anne’s Catholic Primary School, we are so proud of all our children. Some of our children are from different countries, have different cultures and different backgrounds. As a staff, we encourage kindness to all, regardless of religion, ability and the way in which children choose to express themselves.

Many of our children speak more than one language which is incredible! In fact, there are over 20 languages other than English spoken at our school including: Mandarin, Arabic, Urdu, Romanian, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Macedonian, Tamil, Tagalog, Portuguese, Hindi and Polish.

Take a look at our children saying hello.
