Year 5 Easter egg-hunt!
Miss Gould had a lovely surprise for us on our last lesson, an Easter egg-hunt! In order to eat the eggs though, we had to first burn the calories!
Year 4 Dodgeball Boys VS Girls!
Year 5 Dancing like Vikings!
Tournament News
What an afternoon we all had at the inaugural girl's football tournament at the Oratory school. The girls were very excited for their lunch, which was provided by the Oratory canteen. It turned out to be a choice between an amazing curry or pasta bolognese, which children enjoyed, followed by fruit and yoghurt.
After all of that excitement, we decided to go outside and start playing some football!
Our tournament had 7 teams some from The Hill, Sacred Heart, Kidmore End, Whitchurch.
We played 6 games of 16 minutes which meant the majority of girls played 90+ minutes over the afternoon, scoring 2 great team goals, both finished off by Ava.
We ended on a high, drawing our last game against Whitchurch 1-1, meaning both teams finished joint on points!
All the girls really enjoyed their experience, with most even saying they want to join football club now! This can only help them and the school to improve and really compete in tournaments.
Big shoutout must go to Ronnie who, for the last 3 weeks has tirelessly worked extremely hard with the the girls every lunchtime.
Everyone played THEIR BEST and enjoyed themselves, showing great respect for the other teams and the officials and fans around them.
Onto the next competition, cross country at the Oratory on the 7th March!
Let's go St Anne's, LETS GO!!
The Oratory Cross Country Competition
Well what can we say! I'm not sure what was more exciting. Going to The Oratory (such a big school), running 2.5km, the hotdog at the end or THE SNOW THROUGHOUT!
First race was the years 3/4 boys and girls. With the hooter came the snow. The children ran brilliantly. All 8 of ours finished, with some of them running the distance for the first time. Roli managed to finish 10th out of 30 in the girls race with all 3 other girls Ria and Renee and Gauravi running strongly and should be very proud of the effort they put in to become better athletes.
In the boys race, 3 of our boys battled through the snow and ever increasingly slippery course to finish 21,22 and 23, following each other over the line. Hei Yin, from year 4, running as a very late replacement, managed to complete the course and was very happy with his hot dog!
In the year 5/6 race, we had another 10th place finish, Olivia. Our other 3 girls, Isla, Mya and Emielia, ran really well and managed to all finish strongly running over the line. The boy’s race was very fast, with some very impressive running.
Harrison, returning after racing last year and managed to run the whole way round, finishing 13th when racing year 6 boys! Fejiro, Oskar and Josh all ran impressively. For 7 out of 8 of these children, it is the last cross country competition at The Oratory they can attend and they represented the school amazingly well, bring the most sporting team. Well done all, we were so so proud of you.
After being at the cross country last year and then yesterday, it proved to me that cross country club is working.
If you are wanting to join the St Anne's cross country team, speak to Mr Gaylor before or after school at the year 5 door. Open to years 3,4,5 and 6.
