Summer 2
Knowledge Organisers
hese are the knowledge organisers for the term. They are for you to see what the children are learning in school. There is no expectation to do any learning at home from them.
Week 1
PIZZA EXPRESS
Thank you to all the parents who joined us and came along to Pizza Express on Tuesday. We had a great morning making and eating pizzas. The children learnt how to knead the dough and mould it to the pan, making sure they didn't make any holes. Take a look at some of our pictures below. We are now busy in school writing instructions to make pizzas.
Week 2
Thatcham Discovery Centre
The children had another fun filled week and this included a school trip to Thatcham Discovery Centre as part of their Science topic. We all had a wonderful day searching for minibeasts in the woods and learning about where they live. All children had a go at pond dipping in the pond and discovering what animals live in this habitat. A huge thank you to all the parents who came to support us. It really was a fantastic day!
Week 3
Congratulations for filling up that marble jar Year 2. They got to enjoy and own clothes day on Wednesday and a fun afternoon with Year 1.
Also pictured is our PE lesson and out computing lesson. We are busy learning how to code using scratch jnr. Some of the chn are now able to make a at dribble a ball across a basket ball court and shoot the ball into the net. I was VERY impressed!
Week 4
This week we have been having a great debate! Should the crayons return to work? If you haven't read our current book 'The Day the Crayons Quit' do have a click on the youtube link.

Below are photos of the children debating to two sides of the arguement on whether or not the crayons should return to work. They had a great time and produced some wonderful ideas. We will use these ideas to produce a persuasive letter to the crayons, asking them to come back to work.
In maths we have been telling the time, many of the children have found this quite difficult. In the world of Alexa's and smart watches there isn't as much oppotunity for children to learn this kill but please do try and invest a little time using an analogue clock to teach your child to tell the time.
