Week 1 - Starting Year 1
Year 1 have settled really well into their new routines and style of learning with continuous provision alongside small groups.

We started our first week getting to know the class and discussing our feelings using the book "The Colour Monster". We sorted the coloured counters to each emotion and made our own loose parts faces.
We also drew ourselves for our class display, wrote Year 1 common exception words in sand and made faces with playdough.

The class were very excited to have their first history lesson and learn about Kings and Queens from the last decade and we even made our own timelines of who has been our monarch, who is our current monarch and who will be our monarch.
In Design and Technology we learnt all about Gustave Eiffel and all of the amazing structures that he had designed. Did you know that the Eiffel tower was built to be an entrance to the French fair in 1889?!
