Autumn 2
November 27th, 2020
Look at the amazing work we have been doing this week!
Phonics Play

Reception children have made so much progress with their phonics this term! Today we played an interactive game to apply the phonics we know. The children had to use their phonics to decide if a word was real or a silly word and put it into th correct bucket. All children segmented the sounds and then blended them together to read the word.
Remembrance Day
Today we remembered all the people that have given their lives to help protect us. To acknowledge the sacrifice they made and their bravery we created our own Poppy wreath. We each made a red hand print to represent a Poppy and struck into the wreath, which we laid down by the alter in the hall.

Enormous Pumpkin
Today we received a special gift from Miss Talbot’s mummy – a huge pumpkin! She grew the pumpkin in her allotment and thought we would like it in our classroom. As a class we discussed all the different things we could do with it. Firstly, we cut the top off and scooped all the pulp and seeds out and played with it in the water table. We also used a hammer to hit matchsticks and golf tees to the outside. Once we had finished playing with it indoor, we took the pumpkin outside and use it as cauldron mixing different potions inside. I think we can honestly say we had great fun with the pumpkin this week. Thank you Miss Talbot’s mummy.
