Nursery Sessions

Nursery sessions each day:

8.45 am—11.45 am Morning Session for part time children

The children’s lunchtime is from 11.45am until 12.30pm. There is an additional charge incurred for lunchtime.

Our afternoon sessions are 12.30pm- 3.30pm.

Our full-time children stay from 8.45am to 3.30pm. We open our doors at 3.20pm.

We have 18 available places for 2- to 4-year-olds per session available we offer five, half-day sessions per week in the morning.

 

Funding

2 year olds

There are two different funding schemes by the Government that offer free term time nursery education for 2 year olds. One fund is for parents claiming benefits (targeted funding) for 15 hours, and the second one for working parents is a 30-hour entitlement, information on criteria and how to apply in the link below:

If your child is not in receipt of any of these free hours, then the sessions would need to be paid as per the following fees:

£24 per each morning or afternoon session (3 hours)

£5 per each lunch session (45mins)

3 – 4 year olds

All children are entitled to 15 hours of funded term time education from the term following their 3rd birthday.  We also offer 30 hours of free term time nursery education for eligible children. Parents must apply directly to HMRC for their 30-hour entitlement via their website:

If you are not eligible for the 30 hours funding, but still want your child to attend more than the 15 hours, you will need to pay for the additional sessions as per below:

£20 per each additional morning or afternoon session (3 hours)

£5 per each lunch session (45mins)

30-Hour Places

All 3—4-year olds receive 15 hours per week Government funded nursery education.  Some children are entitled to 30 hours per week.

If the parent(s) living with a child each work for at least 16 hours per week, earning at least the minimum week, they may be entitled.

Preparing for Nursery

Beginning nursery is a major event in the life of a three-year-old and there will be lots of things you will want to know to ensure that your child is well prepared.

Here are some of the skills that will help your child to be ready for nursery:

• following simple instructions, such as to collecting or putting away an object;
• asking simple questions and talking in sentences;
• kicking and catching a large ball;
• holding and using pencils, crayons or paintbrushes to make marks;
• moving in different ways, such as hopping, jumping and running;
• taking turns when playing games together;
• using a spoon to eat and a cup to drink;
• using the toilet and washing and drying hands;
• putting on coats and shoes;
• talking about stories you have read together;
• saying number names in order to five;
• playing counting and number games;
• talking about people who are special and special occasions for your family;
• talking about what you see in the world around you;
• creating sounds and singing songs;
• playing make-believe games by pretending.
